LONGEST PLAYABLE STRING INSTRUMENT

By 01/08/2025 Largest & Smallest

Singapore’s iconic condominium complex, d’Leedon, located near Farrer Road, celebrated its grand completion in a truly spectacular way. Renowned America’s Got Talent finalist William Close performed using his unique Earth Harp, which was specially set up to span from the rooftop of d’Leedon’s clubhouse all the way across to another residential tower. This stunning installation transformed the skyline into a musical stage, where the building itself became part of the instrument.

The performance was more than just artistic—it was historic. One of the Earth Harp’s longest strings measured a remarkable 291.71 metres, officially earning the world record for the longest playable stringed musical instrument. The event not only marked the architectural completion of one of Singapore’s largest condominium developments but also set a new global benchmark in musical innovation and creative performance.
