On September 6, 2010, 585 baseball fans at an Anaheim Angels game sent a text message in support of a good cause, generating $2925 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund right away. A $5 gift was paid to the organisation for each text message.
Thanks to a sponsorship from Power Balance, the record was broken at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. In the middle of the game, Angels pitcher Scott Kazmir made the announcement.
