First person in freefall to break the sound barrier

Holder of the record is Felix Baumgartner.

Felix Baumgartner, a super-daredevil, believed he could break the sound barrier. Falling from the sky, 65 years after pilot Chuck Yeager made history by doing so. In addition to breaking the sound barrier during his freefall in 2012 from a height of 24 miles above the Earth, Baumgartner also broke records for the highest freefall parachute jump and the fastest speed in freefall: 843.6 miles per hour!
