The oldest student in history to start kindergarten was 84 years old. On January 12, 2004, Kimani Ng’ang’a Maruge (Kenya) entered in Standard One at Kapkenduiyo Primary School in Eldoret, Kenya. He even wore the required outfit, and his goal was to graduate from Standard Six. Ng’ang’a received straight As on his first set of end-of-term exams in English, Kiswahili and maths on 6 April 2004, placing him among the top five pupils in the class. As a reward, the headmistress, Mrs. Jane Obinchu (Kenya), promoted him to senior head boy.
